Ride to Notting Hill to visit the Museum of Brands

Meet at Outside the Post Office, 97 Eastbury Road, Watford

WD19 4JP

Meet Peter ready to be away at 9.30 a.m.

A ride with Peter to visit the Museum of Brands and see the packaging from our childhood, and much earlier, and how it has changed or disappeared.  Ride out via Eastcote to  Greenford and join the canal towpath to Ladbroke Grove, then roads to Notting Hill.  View museum and lunch, up to 2 hours.  Return by road via Ladbroke Grove, Willesden, Kingsbury Green, and Stanmore.  1450 feet of climbing but nothing challenging.

This is an urban route mainly quiet roads and trails but with some busy roads and junctions.  All trail surfaces good. Museum entry £9 (£7 seniors).  Should be back by 3.30 pm. but need lights in case of delay.  For more museum details see their website: http://www.museumofbrands.com/.  Although the canal and park path sections are well surfaced, one section of the canal path can get a bit muddy after rain so, although "any bike", tyres will need at least some tread pattern to be safe. On the way back I will try and point out the entrance to Sir Winston Churchill's top secret 2nd World War bunker in Dollis Hill.

Prefer to meet us there? Our ETA is 11:30 am, the nearest station is Ladbroke Grove and the museum is at 111-117 Lancaster Road, Notting Hill, London W11 1QT.  Let Peter know by phone or email: rides@spokesgroup.org.uk .

This is a 36 mile, Spokes slow to  medium pace ride (7-10mph average).  Suitable for any bike.  Peter's contact details are in the Autumn News Letter.
