Ride out via Sarrat and Bovingdon to Hemel for refreshment at Sunnyside Cafe. Return via a bit of Grand Union Canal and Bedmond.

Ride south then east along the Grand Union Canal towpath, turn north east along the Paddington Arm to Polish Cafe for lunch. Then roads – some quite busy, others residential – to a circuit around Wembley Stadium, and quiet roads back to Rickmansworth. Pace will be slow along the towpath – perhaps 9 or 10 mph at times, as it can be challenging with gravel path, low hanging branches, pedestrians, dog walkers and narrow sections. I usually use my Brompton for this ride.

Follow former railway paths through Redbourn, Harpenden and north to Luton. Stop at Stockwood Park for refreshments, before heading back via Markyate and Gaddesden Row. Some challenging hills, not suitable for beginners.

A linear ride mainly on cycle routes finishing at Wembley Park station. Visiting Victoria Park & the Velodrome in the Olympic park, Wapping, Embankment, Green Park & Hyde Park & the Grand Union Canal back to Wembley. Refreshment stop in the Olympic Park.
