Spain Cycling Holiday 2027
7 night cycling trip near Girona, Spain 21st to 28th May 2027
Based at a lovely hotel in a converted finca in the Spanish countryside. Mas Pelegri is an eco hotel in the midst of the Catalonian countryside, specialising in cycling and other outdoor activities. No need to travel pannier-light for this holiday!
The countryside around the hotel provides amazing cycling on virtually traffic free country roads and in May we should get great cycling weather
The hotel is run by cycle pros who really know their stuff. They have 100 gpx cycling routes from the hotel for all cycling levels. The routes are easy to follow so we will be looking for Spokes leaders to lead rides, or small groups can follow the routes on their own as the routes are not difficult. The hotel owners provide back up for breakdowns and emergencies.
There are other activities available too- lake swimming, great trails for runners, there is a pool on site and yoga lessons are offered every morning. The owners can also arrange cycle or gravel bike coaching for those who would like it!
Location
The hotel is located peacefully in the countryside 1 mile from the small village of Serinyà; 5 miles from beautiful swimming at Lake Banyoles & 5 miles from medieval Besalu. For those who like hills, the foothills of the Pyrenees are on the doorstep and the beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava are 27 miles away. We will cycle to the many nearby small towns for lunch
Day trips to Girona take less than an hour on public bus and the Salvador Dali museum in Figueres is also possible by public bus or taxi
Costs
We have provisionally booked a range of singles, doubles and twins at half board.
Approximate total cost for most will be £800 to £950 per person half board including bike hire and transfer from Girona. The final price will depend on exchange rate fluctuations, your choice of room and your chosen bike hire
You will arrange your own flights to Girona (or Barcelona which is further away but accessible by public transport)
Spokes organisers will allocate rooms and sort out room sharers if needed and you will pay the hotel direct for your room and any bike hire, on receipt of an invoice. Your invoice will include the cost for your room at half board* and bike hire at £170-£270 per week, depending on your choice of bike. Bike hire includes helmet, tools, inner tube, pump
The transfer from Girona airport will cost between £16-£40 per person and will be paid by Spokes using your deposit
(*The hotel prices include 7 nights half board, VAT, bed taxes, wifi, use of the 25 meter swimming pool on site, gym, bike room, route maps for cycling and running and emergency rescue during cycling and running, daily bike clothes washing, daily cleaning and mid-week bed and towel change. Packed lunch and sports massages are available at extra cost)
First come first served for places, but there will be a waiting list in case of cancellation

- Via Verdes off road cycleway between Girona and Serinya passes within 0.5kms of the hotel, but the road bikes are recommended for our usual Spokes-style rides
Travel
- Flights from UK to and from Spain are the responsibility of each person
- Suggested flights from from Stansted or Gatwick to Girona by Ryan Air or Jet2
- Transfer from Girona Airport costs about £16-£40 per person depending on numbers
- Flights to Barcelona are also a possibility, taking airport transport to Barcelona Sants and then local bus approximately hourly to the local village
Payment
- When your place is confirmed by email you will be asked to transfer £100 deposit
- Deposit will be used to pay for airport transfer costs, Spokes admin and contingency. Any balance will be refunded after the holiday
- Hotel will invoice you direct for accommodation and bike hire
Travel insurance
- Responsibility of each person but travel insurance is strongly recommended
Travel documents
- Passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of departure from Spain and issued less than 10 years before the date of entry to Spain
Cancellation

- Each individual is responsible for any cancellation fee they incur
- Hotel accommodation
- In the event of cancellation we will hold a waiting list and may be able to find someone to fill your space, but in case this is not possible you are responsible for any cancelation fees so please take out insurance
