One night cycling holiday in Somerset 27th and 28th July 2026

Two day holiday cycling this newly opened 80-mile route. Cycleway will lead you on a cycling adventure along a hedge-lined network of sleepy country lanes whilst calling into some of the county’s pretty market towns and historic villages. This cycle trip will take you deep into the county and guarantees that you will be tasting some of Somerset’s finest food and drink along the way

Cost

Approximate cost of accommodation £48.50 per person sharing a twin room (£5 per person reduction if sharing a double room), breakfast not included

Any guest requiring a single room will be charged the additional cost. If the numbers booked or gender mix requires one or two guests to have a single room then the additional cost will be shared between all guests

Premier Inn Meals (which you may order and pay for on arrival) are £8.99 continental or £10.99 cooked unlimited breakfasts. Alternatively, a meal deal of two-course dinner, a selected drink and unlimited Premier Inn Breakfast the next day is £26.99 (prices correct December 2025)

Cost of the trip may not be refundable. We have booked the hotel on a flexi basis but will only be able to pass on any refund for cancellation if resultant vacant bed/s are filled

This is a Spokes Members only trip, first come first served for places and priority will be given to Members who joined before 31 December 2025. Any vacancies after 31 January 2026 will be offered on a first come first served basis, to Members who joined after 31 December 2025. There may be a waiting list in case of cancellation

Payment

When your place is confirmed by email you will be asked to pay £48.50
- If this is not paid you may lose your place
Any additional payment which may arise e.g. needing to share the cost of single room/s, will be payable before arrival on a date to be advised
If you later cancel your place, the £48.50 may only be refunded if someone is able to take your place

Itinerary

General
- There are some challenging hills and some track including rough surface sections
- Suitable for hybrid / gravel / electric bike. Not suitable for skinny tyres
- Luggage must be carried at all times
Route
Itinerary
- Day 1 – Meet at Yeovil Junction Station by 13:50 on Monday
  - Ride the Cycle way to Somerton then a further 6 miles to hotel. 39 miles, 1,963 ft of climbing
- Day 2 – Return to Somerton then continue on the Cycle Way to Yeovil Junction Station
  - Aim to arrive Yeovil by 16:30. 51 miles, 3,103 ft of climbing
  - Return home by train
