Cambridgeshire Cycling Holiday 2026
3 night cycling holiday based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire 20th to 23rd May 2026
Slow to Medium leisurely paced trip where rides will average 8-10mph. Aimed at riders who are confident on roads, it is not suitable for beginners or those with limited fitness, nor for those who are looking for fast rides
Cost
Approximate cost £120 per person sharing a room. Continental breakfast is included
Any guest requiring a single room will be charged the additional cost. If the numbers booked or gender mix requires one or two guests to have a single room then the additional cost will be shared between all guests
Cost of the trip is non refundable if guest cancels. If you choose to share with another guest and they cancel you are responsible for recruiting another guest (of the same gender if sharing a twin room) to take their place and they will then pay original guest’s hotel costs
This is a Spokes Members only trip, first come first served for places and priority will be given to Members who joined before 1 December 2025. Any vacancies after 2 January 2026 will be offered on a first come first served basis, to Members who joined after 1 December 2025. There may be a waiting list in case of cancellation

Slepe Hall Hotel is within easy walking access to the town centre of St Ives, which has a range of shops, cafes and restaurants
Payment
- When your place is confirmed by email you will be asked to transfer a deposit
- If this is not paid you may lose your place
- Remainder of payment required by 31st January 2026
- If you later cancel your place, the deposit may only be refunded if someone is able to take your place
Itinerary
- General
- The terrain is not particularly hilly with some traffic free paths, namely the busway to Cambridge and route around Grafham Water
- Suitable for hybrid / gravel bike / skinny tyres (although caution advised at Grafham Water)
- All rides are optional
- Luggage must be carried on the journey to St Ives and on the return journey including to ride to Grafham Water
- Draft plan
- Day 1 – Make your own way to St Ives. There is no railway station in St Ives but it is possible to cycle from Huntingdon (7 miles), Bedford (28 miles) or Bletchley (51 miles). All distances approximate
- Day 2 – Day ride to Cambridge (31 miles along busway cycle path)
- Day 3 – Day ride to Ely (38 miles)
- Day 4 – Check out of hotel and cycle with luggage to Grafham Water (25 miles)
- Make your own way home. Many guests will cycle from Grafham to Huntingdon to return home via train and/or cycle
