Ride south then east along the Grand Union Canal towpath, turn north east along the Paddington Arm to Polish Cafe for lunch. Then roads – some quite busy, others residential – to a circuit around Wembley Stadium, and quiet roads back to Rickmansworth. Pace will be slow – perhaps 9 or 10 mph, but the towpath can be challenging with gravel path, low hanging branches, pedestrians, dog walkers and narrow sections
Route ridden 6/7/22 on a Brompton. Not suitable for skinny tyres

Spokes Members only day out
Train from Watford Junction to Basingstoke, with one change at Clapham, on Group save off peak tickets. Cycle 30 miles, Basingstoke to Winchester on NCR23, all on road and well surfaced cycleways. Scenic and some challenging hills. 2/3 hours in Winchester. Estimate return at 8:25pm or 9:20pm. Details of rail travel etc. in email to all Members
